Throughout the year we worked in partnership to provide young people with information, ideas and opportunities to help them make informed decisions and choices.

Young people from across Scotland have been announced as the winners of the prestigious Sunday Mail Young Scot Awards 2020 for their outstanding contributions to the nation and their communities.

During lockdown, our Young Scot Co-design team delivered two independent pieces of research on young people’s ideas on how Scotland should recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. These independent pieces of work were commissioned by the Scottish Government’s Directorate for Housing and Social Justice, and the Scottish Government's Advisory Group on Economic Recovery.

Welcome to Young Scot Hive #YSHive – the evolution of our service design approach. Co-designed with young people, Young Scot Hive #YSHive supports organisations to partner with young people to define, design and deliver new policies and improvements to services.

We're delighted to welcome Toni Lamont (student at Scotland’s Rural College), Emmanuella Damptey (student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) and Margo Williamson (Chief Executive of Angus Council) to our Young Scot Board. The arrival of our three new Board members helps us to achieve our target of a 50:50 gender-balanced Board by 2020.

Co-designed by young people and developed in collaboration with College Development Network and Fast Forward, Young Scot is launching a new “Money and Me” digital information resource for young people. The project is part of a wider UK Money and Pensions Service (MaPS) Youth Checkpoints programme.

At Young Scot, we know that young carers make huge contributions to our communities – that’s why we’re delighted to announce, during Carers Week 2020, additional funding for the Young Scot Young Carers Package #YSCarers.

To celebrate #PowerOfYouth Day 2020, the Scottish #IWill Advisory Board has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting young people in Scotland to engage in social action.

Early in the COVID-19 crisis it became clear that young people are - and will remain - one of the most affected groups. Overnight, they were unable to attend apprenticeships, work, college or university.

At Young Scot, we believe that young people should always be connected to opportunities that help them to develop, learn and have fun. Our discounts and Young Scot Rewards are a great way of doing that.

It’s easy for young people to feel worried by what they’re hearing about COVID-19 right now. To support young people, we’ve launched a new resource to help them manage their emotional wellbeing - Aye Feel.

Scottish Youth Parliament, Youthlink Scotland and Young Scot has published an expanded version of the #LockdownLowdown report. This gives a deeper insight into how young people feel about the COVID-19 lockdown.

In partnership with our friends at the Scottish Youth Parliament and YouthLink Scotland, we are asking young people from every community in Scotland to share their concerns about COVID-19.
