YSAttain: Scottish Attainment Challenge

Our YSAttain programme is part of the Scottish Attainment Challenge: National Strategic Partnership which supports the Scottish Government to tackle child poverty, improve attainment and have a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of young people in a non-stigmatising way.

The YSAttain programme comprises the views of young people through our YSEquity Panel, rewards for young people experiencing barriers to attainment, data and insights and partnership engagement with other National Programmes, Education Scotland and Scottish Government.

YSEquity Panel

We support a passionate and diverse group of young people via our YSEquity Panel. This ensures equitable space for debate and conversation between young people and decision makers, allowing them to directly influence the Scottish Attainment Challenge programme. You can learn more about the YSEquity Panel here.

Targeted Rewards

We're actively working with partners to expand the use of the Young Scot National Entitlement Card and related services to support young people facing barriers to attainment, using the Young Scot Rewards platform. These rewards help organisations and groups offer stigma-free incentives and opportunities to young people through the Young Scot Membership platform.

Learn more about these rewards, and apply for up to £300 worth of rewards for your group.

Data and Insights

We're using data and insights to ensure the voices and experiences of young people in Scotland actively inform the work of the YSEquity Panel. This evidence also highlights key policy trends, emerging themes and opportunities for the Scottish Government to explore in addressing the poverty-related attainment gap.

You can learn more and explore the valuable findings from the 2024 What I Need to Learn survey here.

Attainment Partnerships

We work closely on the Attainment programme with the Scottish Government and Education Scotland as well as the Scottish Attainment Challenge National Programme partners Child Poverty Action Group, YouthLink and CELCIS.
