We’re excited to be partnering with Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation and launching our new #YSHive Young System Changers programme.

Over the next three years, we’ll provide a programme of learning and training opportunities for hundreds of young volunteers who join #YSHive – helping them to become system changers and influencers.

#YSHive supports our partner organisations to share power with young people. Together, they define, design and deliver new policies and improvements to current services. This helps to create solutions that tackle some of society’s toughest challenges.

The #YSHive Young System Changers programme will train our #YSHive volunteers in service design for system change and improvement. This will equip them to challenge real-life issues and to become system changers and influencers. We will also recruit young people who are under-represented in decision-making to be a part of the programme. This will ensure that young people from all backgrounds in Scotland take part, and will have the chance to participate in policymaking and build their skills in leadership and strategy.

The #YSHive Young System Changers programme is only possible thanks to support from Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation – one of the largest independent grant-makers in the UK. They aim to improve our natural world, secure a fairer future and strengthen the bonds in communities in the UK.

Ensuring that young people are taking an active role in influencing decisions that impact their future is a key goal for us here at Young Scot. Having young people at the core of improvement ambitions ensures that the final ideas, concepts and recommendations are based on the needs of current and future citizens. Thanks to support from Esmeé Fairbairn Foundation, we can provide young people with the training and skills they need to create positive change for all.
