Young people share their attitudes to online sexual activities

In early 2019, the Scottish Government was interested in finding out more about young people’s knowledge of and opinions about sexual behaviours occurring online. This was to form part of a larger piece of work undertaken by the Expert Group on Preventing Sexual Offending Involving Children and Young People.

To help achieve this, they approached Young Scot to host and disseminate an online survey. This survey covered three main issues:

  • Young people’s perception of their personal safety online

  • How young people feel about sharing photos online

  • Young people’s experience of education around sexual issues
