Truth About Youth 2026
Insights from young people across Scotland, helping to shape action, policy and positive change.
The Truth About Youth Survey is Young Scot's annual insight report, capturing the experiences, views and priorities of young people aged 11 to 25 across Scotland. Now in its third year, the survey provides a growing evidence base on the issues shaping young people's lives, helping us understand both the challenges they face and the opportunities they see for the future.
At Young Scot, we believe that young people are experts in their own lives. This report is built on their experiences and perspectives, providing valuable insight into what matters most to them and the issues they believe require attention and action. By tracking key themes over time while exploring emerging topics, the survey helps create a clearer picture of what it means to be young in Scotland today.
The findings are intended to inform conversations, policy and practice across Scotland. We hope they support organisations, communities and decision-makers to work alongside young people to develop solutions, reduce inequalities and create the conditions in which every young person can thrive.
