Scottish Youth Climate Summit 2021

The Scottish Youth Climate Summit will bring together young people, aged 11-26-years old, from a variety of backgrounds and communities to discuss their priorities for climate action in Scotland. It’s taking place (online) on Saturday on 30th October 2021.

The young people will meet a range of climate experts and activists and will work with other young people to create Scotland’s Youth Climate Declaration. This declaration will highlight the most pressing issues for children and young people and will set out their demands to the Scottish Government and international decision-makers attending COP26 in Glasgow.

Topics will include:

  • Children's rights

  • Youth engagement (in decision-making)

  • Education & jobs

  • Just transition

  • Biodiversity

  • Energy & renewables

  • Travel

  • Food

  • Rural & islands

The young people will also have the chance to learn about leading climate action projects led by young people and learn about topics such as energy security, green careers, and climate activism.

The online event will culminate with young people creating a film that showcases their demands within their new Scotland’s Youth Climate Declaration.

The event is open to 11-25-year-olds and is taking place online on Saturday 30th October 2021. Keep Scotland Beautiful, YouthLink Scotland and Young Scot are supporting the young people to take part in this exciting event.
