Mairéad Reid & John Dickinson join Young Scot Board
Young Scot is delighted to welcome Mairéad Reid and John Dickinson to our Young Scot Board.
Mairéad, from Dunfermline in Fife, is an Electronics with Music student at the University of Glasgow. She was previously a member of the 5Rights Youth Leadership Group, enabling young people to access the digital world creatively, knowledgeably, and fearlessly. She is also part of our Data Advisory Group – a group of data experts supporting us to use our data to improve how we deliver products and services to young people.
Mairéad said: "Young Scot has been a massive benefit to my life ever since I started volunteering with them as a 14-year-old. I'm excited to do all I can to make sure Young Scot represents and serves every young person in Scotland!"
John is Head of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at Raytheon UK. Previously, he was responsible for Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing at Tesco Bank. He was also a youth worker for North Ayrshire Council. John is passionate about organisations serving the needs of diverse groups of employees and realising the value it brings.
John said: “Having personally benefitted greatly from the work of Young Scot in my youth, I’m proud to now be joining the Board team and delighted to work with the organisation as we move into an ever more critical period for young people across Scotland and beyond.”
Elma Murray, Chair of Young Scot Board, said: “I’m excited to welcome Mairéad and John to Young Scot. Their insight will help us ensure our Board and staff team have the variety of perspectives that represent the young people we work hard to serve.”
