 InfoWise Schools

The right to quality-assured and accurate information is a fundamental digital literacy right of young people. With the emerging and evolving artificial intelligence technology, it is more important that ever that young people are supported in developing key information literacy skills.

By signing up to InfoWise schools, we will support you in ensuring that young people have the skills to challenge misinformation, access reliable, accurate and understandable information and understand their key digital rights.

The delivery of the programme will be discussed with individual schools to ensure that the way that it is implemented suits that school’s requirements.

Links to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

The UNCRC is embedded within our services, supporting young people to understand and exercise their rights. The way in which quality information is delivered to young people links directly with their rights. The work within the InfoWise Schools Programme aligns with many aspects of the UNCRC, particularly Article 17.

Article 17: Every child has the right to reliable information from a variety of sources, and governments should encourage the media to provide information that children can understand. Governments must help protect children from materials that could harm them - United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

If you would like to find out more specifically about our work around the UNCRC and how this links to our work with schools, please contact us.
