We are partnering with Capital FM to deliver Young Scotcast – to entertain and inform young people across Scotland.

Katy J, the Capital Scotland drivetime presenter, is hosting the podcasts. Katy previously worked with us as a part of our #AyeFeel campaign. She shared her experience living with endometriosis in her #AyeFeel blog and took over our Instagram for an Q&A to answer young people’s questions about living with endometriosis.

The podcasts will focus on the subjects and issues that matter the most to young people currently in Scotland, including:

  • LGBTQIA+ issues

  • Vaccine myth busting

  • Mental health

  • Hacking, privacy and cyber-crime prevention

  • Gender-based violence

  • Money saving and debt advice

We’re launching the series with an episode featuring a conversation with RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner, Lawrence Chaney. Lawrence with her tongue-in-cheek humour speaks candidly about experiences growing up in a small town and getting bullied for being different. Sharing her journey from moving to Glasgow and entering the drag scene there, Lawrence reflects on LGBTQIA+ community in the UK and her journey to self-love.

This episode will inspire and bring new perspective to young people who might feel like they don’t fit in – Lawrence being a shining example of rising up in the face of adversity and learning to love yourself.

You can listen to the first episode with Katy J and Lawrence Chaney on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.

Please encourage young people you know and support to follow us across social media to stay up-to-date on new episodes coming out every other Wednesday!
