Our Work

Young Scot is here to help young people to be the best they can be.

We want young people to be empowered to make good decisions and choices in their lives and to have opportunities to actively participate in their communities, offline, online, locally, nationally and globally.

How do we do this?

Young Scot Informed

We provide young people with a one-stop-shop of high quality information and opportunities through the national digital platform. Visit to find out how we achieve this.

We give young people access to opportunities and experiences through the Young Scot National Entitlement Card, including discounts, rewards, proof of age, concessionary travel and e-voting/participatory budgeting.

We provide young people with opportunities to develop new ideas and solutions, to create positive change through our Service Design offer, and take part in participation initiatives through our Outreach Service and Schools Strategy.

Welcome to the Young Scot Observatory

One of our aims as Scotland’s national youth information and citizenship charity is to find out what it is like to be a young person in Scotland today.

Over the last few years we have been gaining insight into young people’s experiences on a whole range of issues, from mental health to money management, education to employment. Here you can find all of the insight work created in collaboration with our partners.  Use the filter and search bar below to narrow down your topic of interest.

If you would like to work with us and help us build our insight library then please contact Rowan Morris, Insight and Intelligence Officer
