Scottish stand-up launches Young Scot mental health podcast ‘This Is How Ayefeel’
TikTok comedian Kim Blythe, BBC Traitors Evie Morrison and YouTube gamer Gary Marley feature in season 2
Known to her followers as Kimbo, Glaswegian comic Kim Blythe has gone from top TikToker to award-winning stand-up and now lifts the curtain on battling anxiety while forging a comedy career on the first episode of ‘This Is How AyeFeel’.
Fresh from a successful run at her first Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Kim opens up about, navigating anxiety and finding inspiration from comedy mentor Susie McCabe in the first episode from youth engagement platform Young Scot.
Hosted by Capital DJ Katy J the podcast provides a platform for candid conversations surrounding emotional wellbeing, featuring top Scottish personalities revealing how their life experiences have impacted their mental health.
Building on the success of series one, 10 new episodes promise relatable stories and insights into issues such as the impact of Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) with BBC Traitors Evie, self-care with former nurse and mental health campaigner Hadia and male suicide prevention with Craig Ferguson – who raised £60k walking from Glasgow to Munich for the start of the Euros.
Comedian Kim Blythe said:
“I’m excited to share my story on This Is How AyeFeel and show a side of myself that people might not have seen before.
“For year’s my anxiety got in the way of me ever doing stand-up. It can be very difficult to get up on stage if you’re not feeling good. You need to be in a good place mentally and what I am learning now is to really check in with how I am feeling – something I’ve never done before. Then giving myself grace to switch off when I’m not feeling good.”
Host Katy J said:
“This season, we’re peeling back the layers even more. We’re tackling tough topics, but with a lot of laughter along the way. Kim’s story is just the start — we have an incredible lineup of guests!”
